It may not just be the Press who are seeking to access your organization’s and your customers’ personal data. There are a range of very helpful free resources and security briefings, to which you can sign up on the ECSC website, around the whole unwelcome world of social engineering. Ian Mann of ECSC is author of Gower Publishing’s Hacking the Human: Social Engineering Techniques and Counter Measures.

Ed Wilding (author, Information Risk and Security) is one of the faculty on a couple of events organised by The International Governance and Risk Institute around fraud and computer crime prevention. The events on the 8th and the 16th of August in Port of Spain are a reminder that these business threats are no respecters of boundaries.
