It remains a sad fact that the shortcomings of many projects – those that don’t realise fully the kind of benefits that were originally anticipated for them – can be traced back to a failure on the part of the project team to get their ducks in a row. Which is shorthand for failing to communicate what to expect: upwards, downwards and sideways. Ann Pilkington’s article on Simply Communicate offers some very useful pointers and, even better news, you can log in and see her talking about the subject on Simply TV on 7th September. Ann Pilkington is author of Communicating Projects, due out in 2013 from Gower.
